ABITRARY TEXT
This is the obligatory text that Rob felt compelled to the right hand column of his blog.
Cockroaches are tiny but irksome creatures that thrive almost everywhere in the world. They usually live in the dark and humid places of a house and feed upon all kinds of organic waste. They damage and infest all types of edible things and can also be bearers of dangerous diseases. Therefore, it is important to deal with the cockroach menace in an efficient and permanent way.
Most people looking for a lasting remedy for the cockroach menace resort to usage of chemicals and sprays that turn out to be quite dangerous for humans as well. Therefore, it is advisable to use natural means for removing the cockroaches from the residence instead of using harmful chemicals.
You can begin with bringing about small changes in the kitchen like keeping the sink and the area underneath it clean and ensuring that unwashed utensils are not left in the sink for long. The areas in and around the kitchen sink, being wet and dark provide cockroaches an ideal spot to live and grow in numbers. You should ensure that you properly cover all your food products as well as other organic stuff, so as to ward off the cockroaches.
It is also important to block all the gaps and holes, particularly the ones around your water and drainage pipes that offer the best points of entry to the cockroaches. You must also make sure that you deprive the cockroaches of a fertile breeding ground by properly keeping your sewers and the areas around it dry and clean. If there are public litter bins or dumping places close to your home then you need to find a way to remove them, as in their presence your house is quite likely to be invaded by cockroaches.
Last but not the least, if you have to use chemical substances despite all these measures then go for less strong chemicals like boric acid instead of the stronger ones normally available in the market.
